The Solar thing just got a little more interesting…really.
The Tonopah Solar company in Harry Reid’s Nevada is getting a $737 million loan from Obama’s DOE.
The project will produce a 110 megawatt power system and employ 45 permanent workers.
That’s costing us just over $16 million per job. Of course, they’re going to lay claim to the construction jobs which are expected to last 30 months or so. Which is crap. Thay should only get to count permanent jobs. So that’s what I’m doing here. If you don’t like the jobs comparison, how about this: It’s going to cost almost $10,000 per house for the 75,000 houses this “molten salt power tower” will supply “during peak periods”. Not sure what it will be doing the rest of the time…
It gets better. One of the investment partners in this endeavor is Pacific Corporate Group (PCG). The PCG executive director is Ron Pelosi who is the brother to Nancy’s husband.
Just put your blinders back on and move along folks…..nuthin goin’ on here. Nuthin’ but the usual Obama “transparency”. Is there any word in the language that this administration hasn’t twisted inside out and backwards?
Tighting the Congressional Belt
Yes, Nancy, $1 Million here and there DOES matter. We will save millions of dollars annually by not having to shuttle Princess Pelosi back and forth between coasts.
John Boener has said he will NOT use the jet Pelosi bought for herself with OUR money. He will travel like we do. Good for him.
I totally get that if we were in a national security situation, like on 9/11, we would need to shuttle him in a very secure way to DC or some other safe locale. But not every weekend to see his family, or to take the whole freaking family on vacation.
This gives me a teeny bit of hope. It IS the little things that will make a difference in this deal. Washington needs to budget THEMSELVES the way we do here at home. It does make a difference if you buy on sale, look for the lowest cost for gas in the neighborhood, drive less. It makes a difference if you shut the lights off when you leave a room, stop the newspaper you never read, have movie night at home or at a matinee instead of the opening night of the show. It makes a difference if you buy store brands, clip coupons, plan meals at home instead of eating out. (more below)
In Washington terms, I am looking at things like having dinner and a show in NYC…or maybe look at ways to cut staff for EVERYONE. 25 assistants is just…I don’t care who you are, you can cut about half of that. The President needs to stay his ass at home now. He should be grounded. He has work to do and that doesn’t include all this moving around.
Congress needs to tighten its belt, too. No, we are not paying for flowers to whoever you’re sucking up to this week. No, we aren’t paying for bottled water and food for your office. YOU pay for those things and take it as a business expense if it fits into the IRS code. But Congress needs to trim staff. They need to cut back. They could save a crap load on paper alone if they started making these bills cover one law each. One bill, one law. On .pdf, online, for everyone to read. Lobbyists need to go away. WE need to call and tell them what we think. Give us a way to give you daily feedback online. Automate it. Make your robocallers ask if we are for or against Fair Tax, for example. Press 1 for yes. I would rather do that than have to press 1 for English, thanks.
After you trim the White House spending and the Congressional gluttony, then you need to look at fraud in your entitlement programs. There are a lot of folks on disability…apparently because they have a chronic case of laziness and don’t want to work. Welfare, in cases of able bodied people without actual medical disabilities, should be limited to 3 years and should include things like childcare and vocational training for jobs that will be growing over the coming 10 years. I personally know someone who sucked off the welfare teat for 6 years while she got a Bachelors Degree in Bioscience or some nonsense. She said she was a “scientist”. Yeah, and I’m an Astronaut. But she could not find or keep a job. So, guess what? Come on, guess. You know you want to…what? RIGHT! Back on welfare for her…indefinitely. Well, til her teeny kids were grown, anyhow, by which time she will have some disability or another. Gah. If welfare benefits were kept to a limited time, but actually helped these folks to become employable during that time, it would more than pay for itself.
The money saved on denying Viagra, cable TV and steak to prisoners and scooters to everyone else in the country alone would pay for Medicare for a couple years. Cut fraud and waste in the medicare entitlement and then put that back into the program for actual needy folks.
Then you can look at the administrative waste in the military. No toilet seat costs $700. And there is not a wrench in the real world that costs $350. So. They money saved there needs to be funneled right back into the military budget for the most effective gear and training for our troops.
The fact the Boener says he won’t use a private military jet for his travel makes me happy. But I need to see this kind of turnaround from all of them before I am satisfied. This country has no room for leaders with entitlement issues. We need people who will roll up their sleeves and fix the things that need to be fixed. Fair tax, term limits and no pensions after serving is a start. Any of you have the stomach for that?
Can we offer Pelosi to Mexico?
She claims to be Catholic…and I have never understood how Democrats justify the voting record on pro choice and still be Catholic…but this:
Is she even lucid? Does she make sense to you? Regardless of your faith…what is she even talking about? Nancy Pelosi embodies everything that makes me ashamed of her gender…ashamed she’s a Catholic…ashamed she’s the most powerful woman in this country. What a horrific example she is…can we send her to Mexico in exchange for a few thousand housekeepers? They have to promise to keep her, though…they have that thing in their immigration law says:
that foreign visitors and immigrants are:
# in the country legally;
# have the means to sustain themselves economically;
# not destined to be burdens on society;
# of economic and social benefit to society;
# of good character and have no criminal records; and
# contributors to the general well-being of the nation.The law also ensures that:

# foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;
# foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the country’s internal politics;
# foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;

# those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.
There are a few things in that laundry list [pardon the pun] that might get her booted right back here…hmmm. Anyone got a plan B?

- Cuts Medicare for seniors by $500 billion.
- Will lead to doctors – and medical institutions – refusing to treat Medicare patients.
- Forces every American to buy health insurance under the penalty of a fine or jail.
- Establishes a Medicare Advisory Board of government bureaucrats empowered to ration health care for seniors, cut their benefits.
- Will not lead to a cost savings once the doc fix is added, and it will be.
There is so much more wrong with this bill. The fact is we may never have a better opportunity than now to stop the radical Obamacare.

Tea Party Tomorrow!
We were THISCLOSE to packing some clothes and heading out at midnight last night to drive to DC.
That’s when we would need to leave to make it there. In the end, we discussed what responsibilities we had here at home, with an elderly mom and jobs and a mortgage to pay. We decided it would be difficult at best to make it there in time, and that it would make it next to impossible to pay our bills if we used the money on gas, food and hotel rooms for a trip to this rally.
Then it hit me. THIS is why the Tea Party movement is an incredible phenomenon in and of itself! Most conservatives, regardless of party affiliation, are RESPONSIBLE people who pay their own way and don’t expect handouts. Much too responsible to drop all the things they have to do for their families and their employers, or employees, to just run to a rally. No matter how important the protest.
I have been to several. We have given up lunches and rearranged schedules to dri
ve as many as 7 hours to attend them. It’s THAT important to us that this travesty called “health care reform” not be passed into law. The double counting, fuzzy math, backroom dealing, stealing from the elderly and flat out LYING in this bill…not to mention the fact that they are disregarding the directive of the American people AND the CONSTITUTION to do it!
There are are so many people that don’t see the whole picture. We do not have people dying in the streets for lack of health care. Doctors and hospitals aren’t turning people away for lack of insurance. I worked in health care for over 20 years. We saw people without insurance all the time. Medicare and Medicaid need to be fixed and expanded, if there really are people not covered. Absolutely. Do THAT first. And the insurance companies need to have some guidelines as to not being able to drop people when they get sick. That’s why we pay for insurance in the first place. Duh. Allow insurance sales across state lines. Make them work for our business. But this bill doesn’t do that and will end the health care we have now…the best health care in the world. Health care workers need to CALL THEIR REPS! Tell them to VOTE NO!
This makes me so sick. I just watched Pelosi…again…say she is assured of a victory “for the American people”. This health care travesty is NOT what MOST of us want and I am livid. They have no business issuing “rights” and the folks that elected them to office don’t either. I will be here tomorrow, calling whoever I can to beg them to vote no. Please do the same. Call them. E-mail them. Go to their office. Please ask them to vote no. This is not what we want.

Note to Pelosi
Nancy. Madam Speaker. Princess. Whatever. You need to understand this, and I have finally figured out what it is that you don’t get.
YOU think we’re angry. YOU think we are having town hall “tantrums” like little children, because we didn’t get our way. That is absolutely wrong. What you are seeing at town halls and tea parties is not anger. Anger is mild compared to what we feel and our passion is not born of resentment or disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, we feel that too. Very strongly. Every time you speak, I feel that. But no, this is different.
What we feel is beyond anger, beyond disappointment. What we feel is outraged.
You and your cronies have been chiseling away at the backbone of this country for the few years you have been in the majority. Understand you are only in the majority in Washington. In less than a year, you and Obama have taken this country in a direction that I cannot imagine any true American would even joke about going. I can only believe you are all completely insane, and I would feel sorry for you if you weren’t endangering the country I love.
Earlier this week a woman called in to Rush Limbaugh’s show. Yes, I know how you hate Rush. Maybe it’s actually demon possession…don’t they go crazy at the sound of truth being spoken? But truth is what this woman spoke and I really wish you could listen to her. She is a fellow Californian, one of your people, if not a “constituent”, per se.
But you should listen. Because there are more of us every day. Every day, one more person…or a hundred, depending on what stupid, irresponsible, communistic thing you and your cronies have pulled that day…become outraged and join our ranks. So stop your bawling and crybaby act. YOU are doing this, Nancy. Obama is doing this. We were asleep…and you partied too loud and took too much advantage. Now we’re awake…and we’re beyond angry. WE ARE OUTRAGED.

Queen of the Hypocrites
Nancy Pelosi is such a hypocrite. Oh, yes, I can think of much stronger words, but apparently that would make her break down into a weepy, blubbery, sniveling, LYING mess. She is absolutely the queen of hypocrites. The very first sentence in this clip is what she should be saying into the mirror:
She claims that all this “rhetoric” is making her uncomfortable because it reminds her of the late 70′s and all the violence. What she’s referring to is the 1978 murders of Mayor George Moscone and city Supervisor Harvey Milk, a gay rights activist. Which was nothing close to what we are dealing with now. She is one of the ones who started the most recent name-calling in the first place.
“I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made,” Pelosi said. Some of the people hearing the message “are not as balanced as the person making the statement might assume.” So, when she called is nazis and astroturf and Maxine Waters called us teabaggers and racists…exactly how balanced was that?
Mark Williams called Obama an “Indonesian Muslim turned Welfare thug,” and “Racist-in-Chief”. So what? And boo-freaking-hoo. People on the left called Bush way worse things and while many of us were offended, it didn’t lead to violence. How Pelosi can equate honest, albeit snarky, WORDS to violence while denying any responsibility for her own party’s name calling [nazi, racist, teabagger, astroturf, unAmerican, mobsters, extremists, and soooo many more] is absolutely TYPICAL of her insincere, selfish and completely false “rhetoric”…to use her favorite word.
Well guess what? I don’t intend to live under a dictator like Chavez or Ahmadinejad. I will say what I want about whomever I want and if they want to imprison or kill me for it, fine. Anyone who lives HERE in a FREE USA and wants that kind of government needs to MOVE TO Venezuela or Iran. Get the hell out. But leave the Freedom our forefathers fought for alone! Why do you think SOOOOO many people want to live here? Because they can say what they like about whatever they like and not be imprisoned or killed! If that is the government you want? MOVE! And take Obama with you. I don’t dislike him because of race and I am sure he’s a nice guy. BUT I abhor his policies and his attempt to advance the current state of victim mentality, making it a permanent condition.
In the end, talk is NOT violence and if you want to look at violent protests, look at the left. The 9/12 rally at the Capitol was not violent, and in fact, there was not a single arrest. Nancy Pelosi needs to step down. All she does is divide and polarize this country more ever time she opens her mouth. And didn’t her mother ever teach her the “sticks & stones” thing?

SHAME on these two-faced hypocrites who BOOED and heckled Bush at the 2005 SOTU address and got NO rebukes. Crybaby, two-faced, UNAMERICAN [Yes, Nancy Pelosi, I mean YOU!] HYPOCRITES! Don’t you have something better to do than whine and cry about someone acting like YOU people do as a rule?
I grew up during the sixties, when the only people protesting were “peace lovers”, Doves they were called then. The peace sign was new and all the rage. Back in the 60′s, my Mom was a democrat. And as soon as I was old enough to have an opinion, I saw the error in that mindset. She was a victim all her life, expecting someone else to pay her way. I have been working, paying taxes and doing for myself since I was 14. No one had to pay me to go the the Tea Parties and I wish I could have been in DC on 9/12/09. Of course, the cowardly lyin’ left the White House so that he didn’t have to listen to us, once again. Typical.
But Sen. Joe Wilson stood FOR us during POTUS’s speech last week. When all of us who truly love this country and want it returned to the people WOULD have screamed “LIAR!” at the top of our lungs had we been allowed, he did it for us. He apologized. I would NOT have…it is what we, over 50% of us now, absolutely believe.
It’s NOT about race, it’s not unAmerican. Maureen Dowd is a desperate, pathetic waste of flesh. If she heard the word “boy” as an unsaid word, then SHAME ON HER! She is the racist in this scenario.
And today? His hypocrite “brethren” voted on a resolution of disapproval on him for his outburst. I am so angry I am beside myself. HOW DARE THEY???
He was the ONLY one who dared to speak for the PEOPLE! The second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence reads as follows:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Good for Joe, for taking the high road on this deal and recognizing it as the ridiculous circus that it was. I am not so gracious.
I think this Government as a whole, and most certainly the hypocritical and tyrannical members, who believe they somehow have been elected Princes and Princesses, need to climb down off of their high horses. They are ALL corrupt and they ALL are coming under the scrutiny of their BOSSES…WE THE PEOPLE!
A Real “American”
I got this in an e-mail this morning. Now, I tend to take e-mail forwards with a giant grain and a half of salt, cuz you know many of them are made up. So, I set out, as is my usual, to verify this one.
I thought, “Hmmm…Snopes, or just…call the number?” I decided on the latter, cuz well, there was a number. And? It really is to this law firm, and there really is a Lawyer there named Dennis Guthrie, who it turns out, actually wrote that letter and sent it to Nancy Pelosi.
I told the woman on the phone I would be sharing it on my blog and on FaceBook and Twitter. She thanked me and said that was why he put it out there. I asked her to tell Mr Guthrie “Bravo” and that he spoke for me as well.
So, here it is. From a real American. A patriot who fought for us and is as outraged as ANY American should be by Pelosi and her “my way or the highway” attitude.
