According to this article, the Tea Party Could Put Record Number of Black Conservatives in Office.
Which? Is awesome. But why do they make this distinction? ANY conservative is better than the RINO’s and liberals in there now. Still, I am so pleased to see black conservatives standing up and showing themselves. People need to see something other than the news and honestly, anyone besides Al Sharpton, and frankly, Barack Obama, representing black America.
If ANYONE in the “black community” had done more than offer money for college…if they had shown people that the welfare handouts were not a hand up…that the “projects” were not a payback for slavery, but a different form of it…that gangs only keep them from gaining the true power over their lives, and enslaves them to the streets…that hatred and bigotry can be rampant in their own community, and that it too, enslaves them by giving them someone to blame instead of helping them focus on the real problem. Giving people an excuse to do nothing is what the progressives have done.
Taking responsibility for yourself, your family and your actions…that is the answer. For ALL of us. Wouldn’t it be nice if politicians were to be an example of what to do, what could be…rather than what NOT to do? And what you’d never, ever want to be?
A Proud Cracker
I was raised by a mother who tried her best, but was an alcoholic and later, a stroke victim. We were on welfare for a fair portion of my childhood. Her parents, my grandparents, were hardworking, middle class folks, who were not too happy with their daughter’s choices, or her political views. Stunning as it may be…she was a Jimmy Carter-lovin’ liberal.
She expected to be taken care of, and to have the government send her checks, even though she had worked very little before having her stroke. The stroke left her paralyzed on one side and damaged on the right side of her brain…the side that manages reasoning. So…no debates with her…she could not reason. Not that she would have changed her mind.
When I left home…at 15…I started working. I have been working ever since, and have never taken a dime of welfare money since. I worked my way through school, and no one ever gave me a car, a house…nothing but a chance to better myself.
My husband grew up dirt poor in rural Alabama, to parents with no education and very few skills. They worked at what they could…and took food stamps a bit. They raised two boys. One went into the USAF and served 21 years. He learned skills, and learned responsibility. He has never taken a dime of welfare money. No one gave him anything but a chance to better himself.
My neighbor is a single black woman. She was raised in Oklahoma, born back when there were still places she wasn’t allowed to go because of her race. It’s not like that now…and? She works, pays her taxes, has put one child through college and the other is well taken care of…without being on welfare and without crying about what anyone has done to keep her down.
Today, I heard someone from the “new black panthers” on the news claiming they were making death threats and intimidating people because they are “doing to the white man what’s been done to us.” REALLY?

This man claims that “crackers” are the reason that black people are “still in this condition”. What freaking “condition” is this?
The United Negro College Fund was started in 1944. According to BlackScholarships.com there are many, many scholarships for blacks only, because: “Black scholarships offset the disadvantages that many African American students face. Many are victims of poverty, single parent families, and post-traumatic slavery syndrome. These scholarships allow them to “play catchup” with their white counterparts.” The thing is…lots of people grow up poor. That is not a black only “condition”. The condition is a crybaby, poor me, victim mentality.
The Miss Black America pageant debuted in 1968. The BET awards are essentially a black Oscar award, and yet black people win the regular Oscars. There are many “black colleges”, still, even though the “need” for them hasn’t existed for over 50 years. Black people get all the advantages ANYONE else has, and then some. The fact that they choose to teach their peers to join gangs and spread hate instead of taking responsibility and getting an education…to change their “condition”, they have to change their OWN attitudes. Stop waiting for someone to give them everything and work to get it themselves. EARN it. I am so sick of this whiny, crybaby bullshit. GROW UP.
If any of this…Jeremiah Wright and his “God Damn America”, white-hating sermons…the “New Black Panthers” and their “I hate every Iota of a Cracker” rants…any of it, was reversed and a white person even suggested killing blacks and their babies there would be riots in the streets. That’s the mentality. Break something, hurt someone, blame someone else. Bullshit. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY! Stop acting like spoiled children and work and pay taxes like the rest of us do. Maybe then we will pay attention to your tantrums. Until you are one of us…and I mean hard-working, taxpaying grown ups…you need to STFU.
One more thing. Y’all needed to grow up hearing the “sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never harm me.” deal that my Mom used to tell me whenever I got my feelings hurt. Get over this N-word thing. It’s stupid and childish that you can call each other something and expect no one else to pick up on it. Really stupid. And? Cracker? Really? That’s the best you can do? Maybe you should take advantage of all those black colleges, and scholarships, and funds…cuz you’re gonna need a better vocabulary than that to hurt my feelings.

I get so weary of some black folks thinking they have the the only discrimination issue in this country or any other country, for that matter. They claim they want to be treated like everyone else, but what they actually want is to be treated special. Better than anyone else. Because of a wrong they never suffered. Their ancestors, yes. And I? Didn’t do it. No one who is alive today owned slaves.
But let’s be real. People face discrimination every day. Fat people and smokers probably more than ANY race. I keep hearing about how obesity is costing the country so much money. Smokers are costing us so much money. But I am fat and I cost no one anything. I pay for my own health insurance, and I do my best to stay healthy. I don’t have diabetes, and my insurer pays more for my allergies than my high blood pressure…which btw, my skinny mom had, too. So, genetics, maybe?
Do gays face discrimination? Yes. People with disabilities? Yes. Pregnant women? Yup. White men? Incredibly, yes. Homeless people? Muslims? The elderly? Heck, yes.
Poor folks have the most health care issues…because they can’t afford preventative care, they can’t afford anything but processed food and they are uneducated, so they don’t know how to change that. Do people discriminate against the poor? You betcha. Are they on TV every day complaining about it? Nope.
So, I’m wondering…is Obama going to buy folks a beer every time he sticks his foot in his mouth, offends someone or bungles something up? Cuz if that’s the case, we are ALL gonna be at the White House when he figures out what a ginormous mistake he has made on this health care bill.
I’ll have an MGD 64. You know…cuz it’s light beer and I don’t want to cost anyone more money. I wanted to put my order in, so Gibbs can go get it when my call comes. Not if…just…when.

The "N" Word
Personally, I couldn’t care less. But, it’s a HUGE deal in Texas today. A friend sent me the local news link, I am sure it will be national news in a matter of hours. Click here to look at the news page.
Here’s the thing. Black people are notorious for using the “N” word, but no one else is supposed to…everyone knows this, but no one will say it. So…the bar owner is black. According to their own “rules”, he should be able to use the “N” word.
My take? If you don’t want to be called a nigger, don’t call each other niggers. Don’t use it in your songs, don’t change it to a softer form like “nigga”…just stop using it. It’s either an insult or not. It can’t be an insult if I say it, but not if Snoop Dog says it. I grew up hearing Richard Pryor say it and Eddie Murphy say it and just about every black comic, except Bill Cosby…who, I think makes the most sense of anyone of that race.
There are lots of things people say to hurt someone. Call them fat, or ugly or diss their mother. I have been called all sorts of hurtful and offensive things. But, my Mama said that “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” In other words, grow up and consider the source.
So. Since there is a Miss Black America contest and for blacks only magazines, and for blacks only churches…let’s have a for blacks only election. You folks have a vote and decide:
Is the word Nigger/Nigga offensive and should it be stricken from the language for EVERYONE, or not? If so…stop using it. ALL of you. It’s either OK or not. If not, when someone of a different color uses it? You need to drink a big frothy mug of Shut The Fuck Up and get over yourselves.
