Tea Party Express

I have a lot of opinions. This much is obvious. But usually I spout them here, on FB or yell them at the TV. I hate confrontation, for the most part…a by product of a family who never got along, I guess.

So, I have been to exactly two political rallies in my whole life.

The first, was when we marched on Sacramento’s State Capitol to calmly, but loudly request the removal of Gray Davis as Governor of California.

The second…today…was a Tea Party in Dallas, TX.  It was an awesome thing.  Let me make clear: NO ONE paid me.  NO ONE called me to ask me to be there.  NO ONE told me what to say.  I wore this:

…because I truly feel like I am not allowed to have an opinion in this country unless I am following the sheeple on the left.  Of course, if I were a sheeple, maybe I would be given free lunch and paid about $10 an hour for my time on the bus, and to stand with my professionally printed signs and yell predetermined chants supporting something I really don’t even understand, because that’s how this administration wants it.  “Close your eyes, and just walk forward…of course we’ll TELL you if you’re in any danger. We’re here to help you…trust us…truuuust us.”

But I am NOT a sheeple.  I agree with some things the left is always screaming about.  I recycle.  I drive a hybrid.  I use a water filter instead of bottled water.  I want more responsible care for the earth.  But you know what? WE don’t have control of that in the WHOLE world.  We keep sending jobs overseas…where they don’t give a crap whether they can breathe the air or not, cuz they just wear a mask everywhere anyhow.  The left wants to support every country BUT our own. Our textbooks all paint the people involved in US history as a horrible, native slaughtering, slave beating bunch of white men.  And many parents don’t bother to read what their kids are being taught or teach them anything themselves, so of course, we have raised a whole generation or three of America hating liberal sheeple.  But not me.

I spoke to lots of people today. Surprisingly, no one was being paid to be there.  No one I spoke to had been called or asked to come to the party.  They saw it was coming, felt a desire to show support and came…on their own.  They waved flags…instead of burning them.  They sang songs of patriotism and listened to speakers without any rioting, fighting or disruption…except maybe of traffic.  There were a lot of people there.  Old, young, male, female, many different political parties, veterans in wheelchairs and folks in work clothes, obviously taking time for the rally during a long lunch break.  In many cases, like, my own, they parked 10-12 blocks away from the event and walked to the rally…then walked back afterwards.  No buses for us.  And that’s OK.  There was very little to see in the way of opposition, so my friends’ fears of me getting into an altercation, get digits bitten off or end up in jail were all for naught.  This time.

I’m not sure it will be safe to go the next time. The ‘communications czar’ [Diversity Czar for the FCC] is a big fan of the Chavez regime, and government takeover of all communications.  Who knows what our right to gather will be taken away.  But I will go anyway.  Don’t get me wrong.  I am truly afraid of this administration.  This is not the usual day at the beach in the Clinton White House, and it sure as heck isn’t Jimmy Carter. It’s going to be a scary time, this next year or 3.  But if we stick to the truth, if we can keep our eyes open and our antenna up for lies…we might be able to get past this and make things right again.  Watch and pray, people.

And if you can, go find a Tea Party and express your disgust for this administration and your hope for common sense, positive change.

A Monday Chuckle

Sometimes, you have to laugh…out of frustration, mostly.  But got this via e-mail this morning and well, it did make me chuckle:

Guy goes into a bar, where there’s a robot bartender.
The robot says, “What will you have?”
The guy says, “Martini.” The robot brings back the best
martini ever and says to the man,
“What’s your IQ?” The guy says, “168″.
The robot then proceeds to talk about physics, space exploration
and medical technology.

The guy leaves, but he is curious, so he goes
back into the bar.
The robot bartender says, “What will you have?”
The guy says, “Martini”. Again, the robot makes a great martini, gives it
to the man and says,
“What’s your IQ?” The guy says, “100.”
The robot  then starts to talk about Nascar, Budweiser and John Deere tractors.

The guy leaves, but finds it very interesting, so he thinks he will try
it one more time. He goes back into the bar.
The robot says, “What will you have?”
The guy says, “Martini”, and the robot brings him another
great martini. The robot then says,
“What’s your IQ?” The guy says,
“Uh, about 50.”

The robot leans in real close and says,
“So, are you people still happy you voted for Obama?”

Who’s “UNAMERICAN”?

Nancy Pelosi needs to shut her mouth.  She is so two-faced.

Here’s what I mean:

OH!  Wait!  Is that a swa…no, it can’t be…that would be “unamerican”…

And:

Apparently, it’s only “American” to voice an opinion against a conservative view.  No wonder we’re all “angry”. They shouldn’t push us though, right? Aren’t we all the NRA members?  Dangerous…oooooo.

Today, Obama had yet ANOTHER townhall. Seemed fixed like the rest…til the last woman.  Seems to me the Messiah’s staff blew it when they didn’t KNOW the Montana state constitution preamble…cuz she read it to him:

“We the people of Montana grateful to God for the quiet beauty of our state, the grandeur of our mountains, the vastness of our rolling plains,and desiring to improve the quality of life, equality of opportunity and to secure the blessings of liberty for this and future generations do ordain and establish this constitution.”

Awesome…and then she asked him to read the rest.  With God in the first sentence, I’m pretty sure he didn’t like it, and has no plans to read the rest. WE should though. It is a beautiful document. Section 1 rocks:

“All political power is vested in and derived from the people. All government of right originates with the people, is founded upon their will only, and is instituted solely for the good of the whole.”

I swear…I’m ready to move to Montana!

Healthcare Reform

Obama needs to focus on fixing Medicare and Medicaid. Once those are running as “model healthcare programs”, then he can open them up to cover the LEGAL citizens who are not covered as needed. That’s “reform” in my book. Fix what’s broken and leave the rest alone. Dammit.

I don’t need any “studies” and it doesn’t take 1000+ pages to explain it. It’s a 3 point bill:

1. Fix Medicare.

2. Fix Medicaid.

3. Add whoever cannot afford healthcare on their own to Medicaid on a sliding scale basis.

I’ll tell you something else. I am getting really sick of being called names by these primadonna politicians. THEY work for US!  None of them seem to get that and this business of talking on their cell phones, looking at their watch…or some who are refusing to even have town hall meetings…is just an insult to the people who elected them. Even if they didn’t vote for them, they still should be open to the people they SERVE.  It’s PUBLIC SERVICE!  ALL American politicians SERVE the PEOPLE!!!

And yes, the anger is about Healthcare reform.  And YES, we have a right to speak out on this issue. WE are the people. I am not a mobster, I am not a terrorist. But, yeah, I am pretty hacked off.  They are not being transparent, they are not being honest and I am really sick of this prince and princess attitude that all the politicians, from the top down, seem to have copped.  Get over yourselves, folks.

For more on the FISHY stuff going on with this health care “reform” bill, check out Keith Hennessey.

A Stunning and Amazing List

Sometimes I do love an e-mail forward. Not always…but today, yeah.

Our “Cool Clown” in Washington. Now. Don’t you be too critical. A stunning and amazing list of accomplishments:

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have shrugged it off?

Had George W. Bush given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, in exchange for a thoughtful and historic gift from Mr. Brown, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had gifted the Queen of England with an iPod containing videos of his own speeches, would you not have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have been incensed?

Were George W. Bush to have visited Austria and made an inane reference to the non-existent “Austrian language”, would you have brushed it off as an insignificant slip?

If George W. Bush had staffed his cabinet and circle of top advisers with persons who cannot or do not keep current on their income taxes, would you have been OK with that?

If George W. Bush had been so unbelievably ignorant of Mexican history and the Spanish language as to clumsily and nonsensically refer to Mexican Independence Day – Cinco de Mayo (Fifth of May) as “cinco de cuatro” (fifth of four) in the presence of the Mexican Ambassador, and continue to flub it when trying to recover from the gaffe, would you have merely winced in embarrassment and shrugged it off?

Had George W. Bush miss-spelled the word “advice”, would you have hammered him incessantly as was Dan Quale for spelling “potato” “potatoe”, and cite this as proof he’s a dunce?

Had George W. Bush burned 9,000 gallons of air polluting jet fuel to go on a Midwestern photo op and plant a single tree on “Earth Day”, would you have said he’s a hypocrite?

If the Bush administration had okayed Air Force One with fighter escort flying low and unannounced over millions of people in downtown Manhattan while stirring widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually “get” what happened on 9-11?

Had George W. Bush been the first President to need a teleprompter to get through a press conference, would you have seen this as proof of how inept he is? And would you also suspect his words were actually those of someone behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had failed to send relief to flood victims in the Midwest where more people were killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you have fashioned it into an ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush, in an unprecedented government intrusion into the private sector, and completely without the constitutional authority to do so, dared “fire” the CEO of a corporation, would you have acquiesced?

Had George W. Bush in his first year proposed to double a national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, would you have gone along?

And if George W. Bush then proposed to double the debt again in a few years, would you have questioned the wisdom of such a course of action?

If George W. Bush had degraded by 90% your own retirement plans holdings in GM stock, and at the same time given the UAW a majority stake in GM, effectively giving ownership over to the union, would you have accepted that?

If George W. Bush, after telling Americans “it is time to sacrifice”, had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to fly Laura to New York City for dinner and a Broadway play on the taxpayer dime, would you have called him a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush, after stating he didn’t have all the facts, had injected himself into a civil matter, claimed a police officer “acted stupidly” in doing his job and then had a beer party at the White House to smooth it all over would you have thought it was a great “teaching moment” in our Country’s history?

Yes. That really IS a stunning list of accomplishments.

So, tell me again, what exactly is it about Obama that you consider evidence of his brilliance, competence, diplomacy, and leadership?

Can’t think of anything? Don’t worry. Obama’s done all the above in his first 7 months — so you have three years and five months to come up with something.

And I am sure there’s stuff missing from this list…Lord only knows what we’ll be able to add in the next 3.5 years.

Why Not Barack?

THIS is why.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/02/13/congress-readies-final-vote-b-stimulus/

No one has read this thing. It’s 1500 pages, printed less than 24 hours ago and voted on less than 6 hours ago. It will pass and it will not do a damn thing for anyone except the special interests…and freaking ACORN. ACORN, who is largely responsible for the housing and mortgage problems now. Along with the stupid, blind democrats who keep shoveling money into the furnace.

THIS has been what’s wrong with this country for the last 2 years. Bush’s hands were tied. But he still fought. Now they have no one to fight them and they will run amok. They FORCE partisanism from the right because they are putting out legislation that is absolutely ridiculous. They have never and will never even attempt to be bipartisan because as Pelosi said, they “won, so [they] write the bill.”

All you dumbasses who voted for this Democrat ruled nightmare should have to pay for every dime of what they spend. Oh, wait…most of you either don’t work, don’t donate, don’t pay your share of taxes or are too busy worrying about what the illegal aliens have a right to in this country that you never even SEE what the hell YOUR congress is doing.

And? This is only one of the many reasons why not Barack.

CIVICS 101 3rd GRADE

From a teacher in the Nashville area…I don’t even care if it’s true. It’s a perfect illustration of what has happened to our country.

We are worried about “the cow” when it is all about the “Ice Cream”

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president.

We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.

To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.

The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia’s mother.

The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Every one applauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium.

Her speech was concise. She said, “If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream.” She sat down. The class went wild. “Yes! Yes! We want ice cream.”

She surely would say more. She did not have to. A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn’t sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn’t know. The class really didn’t care. All they were thinking about was ice cream.

Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.

Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream, fifty percent of the people react like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other fifty percent know they’re going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.

A great e-mail I got today…

In just one year. Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might like to read the following:

A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember it’s Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what’s handed to him.

Quote of the Day……..’My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it.’ — Barack Obama

How scary is THAT?

Taxes…Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html

Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K – tax $8,400 Single making 30K – tax $4,500
Single making 50K – tax $14,000 Single making 50K – tax $12,500
Single making 75K – tax $23,250 Single making 75K – tax $18,750
Married making 60K – tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K – tax $21,000 Married making 75K – tax $18,750
Married making 125K – tax $38,750 Married making 125K – tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates.

It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can’t wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don’t even know what happened.

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this:

Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us.

Are we THAT stupid?

If this doesn’t bother you then whatever…move along. If, on the other hand, if it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you forward this blog to every legal resident in the country including every representative in Washington, D.C. – five times a week for as long as it takes to restore some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement thereof.
