Much was made of Sarah Palin writing on her hand before the Tea Party Convention speech recently. The words “Energy”, “Tax” and “Lift American Spirits” are visible on her hand. There’s also what appears to be “Budget cuts” with the word Budget crossed out. Absolutely nothing wrong with making note of something important you want to say on your hand.
If it wasn’t for her speech but for the Q&A after, as that is apparently where she looked at it, so what? People take notes for award acceptance speeches only to forget to thank their wives or husbands, and Lord knows I have walked out of the store lots of times without the one thing I went there to buy.
I would rather see her jot a few words on her hand to jog her memory to include a key point than to have her paralyzed at a podium because the teleprompter is on the fritz and she has NO IDEA what to say because it isn’t being fed to her line by line. Oh, wait. SHE doesn’t use a teleprompter! That’s Obama, huh?? Yeah, that’s right.
Hey, you stupid pundits! Why don’t you get off your pedestals and clock in to real life! LOTS of people write on their hands! It doesn’t make us ignorant or less educated than you…or your precious ideologue Obama. I do it for several reasons:
I am BUSY. I have a lot on my mind and a lot of things to track. And I think of things on the run, on my OWN, instead of reading them in books written by other people.
I do not want to forget an important appointment or task.
And most importantly? I DO NOT USE A TELEPROMPTER! I also don’t have someone writing my speeches, or keeping track of my every move for me. Some of us have to think for ourselves and often there is not a piece of paper handy, and there’s NEVER a personal assistant following me around to tell me everything I need to know.
So, how about you elitists step out of the way and give those of us who have to live a real life a break. That includes Sarah Palin. Leave her alone already. It just makes you all look like weak-minded bullies. Maybe you should all take Al Gore to Greenland and watch the ice melt.
