Hey – quality article. As you know, the Obamacare bill is now signed. A lot of questions still remain, but we all know that it is that it won’t be cheap. I own a small business and I worry about the new taxes. I want to hire more employees, but the bill makes things very difficult for us little guys. Here’s the big question: If it’s hard for us to hire people, how will this economy come back? Anyhow… slick site… I’m subscribed to your feed now so thanks again!

Nut, you epitomize “your side.” You pop into a personal blog, choose a post that is primarily observational, TITLED “opinionated,” and attempt to make it representative of the disillusionment of the entire conservative nation. Quite frankly, we don’t NEED personal insults to argue his utter failure to this point. He has given us plenty of ammo. Last time I checked, “our side” had proposed health reforms that make MUCH more sense, and can’t get “your side” to give them the time of day. Expand medicaid and medicare? The government can’t run it NOW with the bloating and corruption that is driving up costs. Is there a magic Dem Fairy we don’t know about that’s going to manufacture gold to pay for all that expansion? Do you have YOUR checkbook out?

I’m under the poverty level, uninsured, and I have NO INTEREST in letting the government have even one more millimeter of control over my life. I will go to jail and let you pay for it before I will pay a fine for not being insured (proposed by your side). I will also defend your right to stand behind a leader who has not done one thing he promised to do. The one thing he HAS managed to do is to reduce our nation to a scolded little boy, apologizing for being strong and self-reliant, a fact which offends me to the core.

I am truly afraid for our country. I fear an idealistic party that refuses to acknowledge the greed and corruption that will make its’ proffered health plan a quagmire from which we may never escape. I fear a Congress that has decided it is entitled to suckle at the breast of the American people with impunity. I fear zealots on both sides of the spectrum, but mostly I mourn the impending death of freedom of choice and personal responsibility.

America will die in the name of tolerance and compassion unless we all wake up and see that empowering people will do more than entitling them.

I called you a moron. Sorry. Fact is, there are loads of other posts you could have answered, but you chose this one. And? You missed the point of the post. Says more about you than me. Whatever.

We are discussing policy. ALL the TIME. We do NOT want socialist medicine. We DON’T want the government to own everything, to employ everyone, to tax the hell out of us. We don’t want Iran to have nukes or China to own us.

We want tort reform, fraud control on medicare and medicaid and expansion of both those programs to deal with the “uninsured”. We want immigration enforcement. You want to live and work here? Do it legally. We want jobs created by allowing small and medium business to grow, since those are the biggest employers in our country. We want a strong military for a SAFE country. We want a strong president, not a whiny, apologetic, finger-pointer who never takes responsibility for his own actions and has broken every promise he has made since he’s been in politics.

Why not read what we are really saying, rather than pick one post, misconstrue it and act like that’s all we’ve got? Is it any wonder we’re “angry mobsters”?
